The Experience
When you enter the Viking chieftain`s house, it is like being transported back to the Viking Age. Light flickers from the hearth, it gleams from the ceiling lamps, the smell of wood tar fills your nostrils. A smell of broth pervades the house. Maybe you would like to taste some?
In the main season, 15th June until 15th August, broth will be served in the banqueting hall every day. You can also ask for a taste of the mead, served in Viking glasses.
You can participate on a rowing trip with the Viking ship every day 1.p.m.
Guided tours are included in the entrance fee, and there are several tours during the day. Look for information when you arrive, or call in advance for more detailed information. Groups must order guided tours in advance.
In connection with organised visits you have the choice of various options:
Meals of various kinds, from the very simple to five course banquets, the Borg chieftain's company at your table og take part in an outing on the Viking ship.
Lofotr, the Viking Museum, organises various programmes in connection with courses and conferences.
