The Vikings mastered several skills and crafts. Lofotr Viking Museum offers you the possibility to test yourself at the nomerous activities and games that filled viking age everyday life with fun and excitement. You can compete with your friends and family at archery and axe-throwing, go horse riding or row a viking ship! Join in - both young and old will enjoy themselves.

Groups must preorder activities.The activities are available for individual guests from 15th of June til 15th of August. Groups may order activites in spring and autumn, too.  

The activities are at the area by "Pollen", where the viking ship lies. "Pollen" is a lake that opens out to the sea, and the remains of a great number of iron age boathouses have been found here. One such boathouse have been reconstructed close to the viking ship pier, large enough to fit our biggest Viking ship "Lofotr". You will also find a reconstructed smithy where the blacksmith is at work 5 days a week (15th of June - 15th of August). 

The Lofotr VIking museum has two viking ships, "Lofotr" and "Vargfotr". They alternate on being in the activity area. In 2012, the viking ship Vargfotr will be at disposal for our guests, along with skilled viking sailors. 

The road from the chieftains house to Pollen is app. 1,5 km to walk, through a beautiful, slightly hilly terrain. You can choose between two trails- Make sure to take time to enjoy the landscape, and say hello to the animals that graze along the road.  By the activity area there is a small café in a traditional building (outdoor seating only, open 15th of June - 15th of August) where you can get hot and cold drinks and small meals.
