The viking ships The vikings were excellent sailors. They travelled far to trade with other people. Lofotr Vikingmuseum have two reconstructed viking ships and one smaller boat. During summer you can participate in rowing one of the ships. >
Events, banquets, food and drink Groups and individual travelers visiting Lofotr Viking Museum may taste the food and drinks of the viking era, in a unique setting - the chieftain´s house - all year. >
Permanent displays and film In the reconstructed longhouse you can see the chieftain`s home and banquet hall. You can also learn more about the norse mythology in the "Yggdrasil room". In the arrival area you can visit our unike archaeological items collection, and the film "Drømmen om Borg" (the dream of Borg). >
Farm animals The wealth of a chieftain was based on landholdings and livestock. The cowshed, that was 32 metres long, may have housed as many as 50 cows. >
