The museum is easily available wether you travel by car, public transportation or bicycle. The main road E10 runs in front of the museum (E10; between Narvik - Sortland - Svolvær - Å in Lofoten). The museum has ample parking space, including a part of the parking reserved for buses, caravans and mobile homes. Lofotr Viking Museum is located 15 km north of Leknes, 50 km south of Svolvær.

If you travel by public transportation (bus, i.e. Svolvær - Leknes), the bus stop is right in front of the museum. Information on public transportation can be found here. Bus stop is "Borg" or "Bøstad".

The Hurtigruten is calling twice on Lofoten every day, both north- and southbound - both in Stamsund and in Svolvær. The closest port of call is Stamsund, 28 km south of Borg. You may bring cars on board most of the Hurtigruten ships. Click for sailing list, prices and further information.

The closest airports are Leknes (LKN), Svolvær (SVO) and Evenes (EVE). Leknes is 15 km south, Svolvær 60 km north and Evenes 260 km east of the museum. Search for airport, then flight schedules at the web-pages of Avinor

Arriving by car you might use ferries to get to Lofoten. Ferries depart from Bodø to Moskenes (south of Lofoten, 65 km to Lofotr Viking Museum). Coming from the north, using the ferry Melbu - Fiskebøl you are 90 km north of the museum. Information on ferries and other transportation at www.lofoten-info.no
