What happens in January 2021

The polar night is on the wane and it is slowly begins to move towards brighter times. Outside you can see the northern lights dance across the sky if the weather is good. Inside you can visit the archaeological exhibition, film and the reconstructed Chieftain's House and the museum gift shop is open. In addition, most nights we have a Viking Feast.  

What's on at Lofotr Vikingmuseum in January?

Due to Covid-19, the museum is closed in January 2021. We are so sorry!

Visit outside opening hours can be booked in advance (groups). When the museum is open, this is on offer:

Archeological exhibition, film and the Chieftain's House are open.
Bring your smartphone to listen to the stories about the findings that are displayed.
Viking Feast every evening for individual guests (prebooked) at 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM.

The Museum Gift Shop is open during museum opening hours.

On the following days, we have extra activities:
  • January 4: Children's Viking Saturday - Rune amulet
  • January 11: Viking gathering - Lofoten vikinglag
  • January 18: Children's Viking Saturday - Food archaeology
  • January 25: Anniversary event
