Extra activities during week 10

​Monday to Friday in week 10 there will be various extra activities for the children at Lofotr Vikingmuseum due to local winter holiday school break.

Winter holidays with the Vikings

During the winter break, 2-6. of March 2020, there are various different children's activities at Lofotr Vikingmuseum.
All activities take place in the chieftain's house and all activities are included in the entrance fee.

Monday, March 2: Food Archeology for kids. Suitable for families.
Tuesday, March 3: Thin-bread baking. Suitable for all. 
Wednesday, March 4: Viking-inspired face painting and hair braiding for kids and childish adults. 
Thursday, March 5: Thin-bread baking. Suitable for all.

Friday, March 6: "Dress like a Viking?" Suitable for kids and childish adults. 

Food archeology:
What did people eat in the Viking Age? The guide shows food on a table. Tells about what people ate in the Viking age and which food types they did not have access to. Also talks a little about table customs and manners in the Viking age. Suitable for children of all ages and curious parents.

Thin-bread baking:
Learn how to bake bread over an open fire with ingredients the Vikings had access to. Activity is suitable for both children and adults.

Face painting and braiding:
Our Viking guide creates Viking-inspired braids in the hair for the kids and gives them Viking-inspired face paints. The activity is suitable for all children and childish adults. Feel free to bring your own hairbrush / comb. We provide hair tie and face paint.

Dress like a Viking:
The kids can dress up as a Viking with Viking costumes from our assortment. Those who want can also get their picture taken with clothes on in authentic Viking environment (with their own camera).
