Autumn Holiday Activities 2020

During the autumn holidays, we make arrangements for the children. Join in on new and exciting activities and cozy moments.

Autumn holiday for children and Vikings 

From Wednesday, October 7 until Saturday, October 10, (week 41) there will be extra activities at Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg in Lofoten.
The museum is open from 12:00-16 00 these days. The activities do not cost anything extra (regular entrance ticket) and if you have an annual card, you can use this as an entrance ticket. Changes to the program may occur.

Wednesday, October 7:
Come and try weaving with wool in the feast hall.
One of our Vikings shows spinning yarn and tells about textile production in Viking times.

This activity is suitable for all children.

Thursday, October 8:
Join the big throwing day: spear and horseshoe throwing in the yard outside the Viking chieftain's house.
Learn and throw spears like a Viking.
The activity is suitable for children aged 6 and up.

Friday, October 9:
Today will be a rune day in the feast hall and outside. (Only in Norwegian)
Make your own name in runes and hear the story of When Odin was hanging in the tree to gain knowledge.
You may also have your fortune read in runes - fun for both children and adults. 
The activity is suitable for children from about 4-14 years.

Saturday, October 10:
Viking pizza over a open fire - Yum!
Make Viking pizza like a Viking.
We bake by the fireplace, wear suitable clothing/clothing that can withstand a spark.
The activity is suitable for children from about 5-14 years.

October and November in general:
Open Wednesday and Saturday from 12:00-16:00. Extra activities every Saturday. The museum gift shop and the archaeological exhibition are open during the museum's opening hours.
Bring your smartphone and headphones and listen through the fine finds.

We take infection control seriously. Pleas read about our precautions before your visit.
We ask participants to respect distance requirements and good cough and hand hygiene.
If you are ill, you can not attend the events.
