​Lofotr Vikingmuseum and all museums/units part of Museum Nord are strictly following the rules set by the authorities to prevent spreading of the Covid-19-virus. 

We are following strict procedures to ensure safety for visitors and staff. The procedures include all aspects of running the Lofotr Vikingmuseum; maintenance, cleaning, ticketing, shop sales, serving of food, activities and more. We rely on your effort to follow the rules set by the authorities by us. Information is given upon arrival by posters and from our staff. 

The authorities rules and regulation on isolation, quarantine, and travel advice has to be followed by all. The Norwegian Institute for Public Health is continuously updating their home page.

If you are experiencing symptoms of infection, you are not at liberty to visit the museum.

Use desinfections
and/or soap and water. Wash hands properly. Disinfectants are available at all entrances. 

Keep your distance
Keep at least 1 - one - meter distance to the next household. There are limitations to how many persons the various areas in the museum can hold. We will restrict ticket sales or spread the audience if needed, to keep within the limits. Our staff will monitor the situation and take the necessary action. The museum has several, large rooms/exhibition halls and vast outdoor areas.

Do not touch
If not necessary, do not touch. We will be leaving as many doors as possible open (weather conditions apply), use cordons/block off areas. Please avoid touching items/objects. Our skilled guides are more than happy to share their knowledge. Surfaces that are being frequently touched are frequently cleaned. Our cleaning routines are adapted to the circumstances. 

Bring your own smartphone and headset
Due to Covid-19, we do not lend out iPods, iPads, headset, or other equipment. Bring your own if you would like to dive into the audioguide-exhibition system (archeological exhibition hall, film. No audioguide-system in the Viking Chieftain longhouse or in the outdoors).

Food and drinks
We are serving food and drinks. Our staff will serve you - simply let them know what you wish. Tables are placed with an extra distance between. Please respect the 1-meter-rule to the next household. 

The Museum Café is serving warm and cold dishes, drinks, cakes, and ice cream. In the Viking Chieftain´s longhouse, warm lunch is served. Ingredients are Viking age-appropriate. Enjoy!

Activities
There are activities in the museum area (starting June 15).  There are guides at work and they will be happy to share their knowledge. Please get in touch with them. If there are organized, guided tours these will be in accordance with the rules (name list, max group size, etc). 

The Museum gift shop
is open, offering a selection of toys, books, ceramics, textiles, clothing, and much more. Please let our staff show you the items. Payment preferably by credit card. We will be cleaning/disinfecting frequently. 

We remove less important items
Brochures for self-service is removed. Please use the internet to find travel information. The official tourist information, with brochures for downloading, is www.lofoten.info 
Wifi is available in the Glassgården (entrance area of the museum).
