Easter holiday 2021
We are open at Easter and look forward to visits from families and children!
We are open during the Easter holidays
Due to the corona, the opening hours this winter are very limited - BUT during the Easter holidays, there are chances to visit the museum. The Vikings will be arranging horseshoe-throwing and spear-throwing outside the longhouse.
31.03 Wednesday - 12-16
03.04 Saturday - 12-16
In addition, you can experience the archaeological exhibition with unique finds from the area. The children's travel guides Bædi and Børdi are ready to guide the kids if they want their own trip (Norwegian language only) . The museum gift shop is always open when the museum is open. In the Viking chieftain's house - which is the world's largest - it smells of tar and fire, there are crafts, decorations, and exhibitions related to the Vikings' worldview/mythology.
NB: Changes due to the situation with the corona may occur. Thanks for understanding.
Bring your own face mask. Bring your own mobile phone. Please keep the required minimum distance of 2 meters from other guests or our staff. Use face mask if this is not possible.
Please read about our measures for infection control before your visit. For the best possible experience of our audio guide exhibition, we recommend that you bring your own smartphone and headphones - we can unfortunately not lend equipment these days for reasons of infection control.
Groups can order Viking meals by contacting our booking. Groups can pre-book for all days for visits outside opening hours.
