Opening hours Christmas/new year

​During the holiday season the museum is open evenings for those of you who wish to take part in a Viking feast. The museum is closed on daytime but exhibiton halls are available on the evenings for the Viking feast. 

Almost every evening, all year, the Lady of the house and the Viking Chieftain invites to a Viking feast. Delicious food and drinks are served, together with entertaining of the Viking age during the dinner.

 
Before the Viking feast starts, you are invited to see the archaeological exhibition halls and the Viking Chieftain longhouse - almost like a visit at daytime, simply ending it with a great meal. The Viking feast is held on the following days around the holiday season: Dec 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30. January 1, 2, 3 etc. 

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
18:30: Meet at Lofotr Viking Museum, main entrance. See exhibition halls and film (audio guide, 6 languages). See Viking Chieftain`s longhouse before Viking feast.
19:40 - ca 20:40: Viking feast in the longhouse.
Museum gift shop: open after the Viking feast. Books, historical glasses, toys, jewellery, textiles, clothing and more. 
21:00: Museum closes.
Language: The Viking feast is held in English language.
Clothes: Wear warm comfortable clothes and shoes. Short walk outside, can be windy.

Viking feast must be booked in advance, no later than 12.00 noon same day. We require a minimum number of participants.
Viking feast include:
Entrance to museum exhibition halls, authentic, delicious Viking dinner: a generous serving of lamb from Lofoten, tasteful garnish, 2 glasses of mead/honey wine (ca 15% alcohol), entertainment during the meal.
