Primitive Outdoor Ironworks

Iron was a useful and important resource for the Vikings.

To make iron out of bog iron there is a number of tasks that needs to be done; collect the raw materials from the bog, build an oven, make bellows, make charchoal – and a number of other operations. The museum has an outdoor bloomery nearby the Vikingship harbor. It is in infrequent use, for different projects.
