Rowing a Viking ship is an activity suitable both for young and old, big and small – and, of course, you need no prior experience. The captain will teach you what you need to know.
Sailing or rowing takes about 20-30 minutes and is one of the most popular activities at the museum. The event is arranged several times a day (subject to weather conditions). The activity is included in the normal admission price. It is not possible to make reservations for individuals, just go to the Viking ship moorings and wait your turn. If the ship has to be rowed instead of sailed, you will have to take the oars yourself and row in step with the others. The captain will teach you what you need to know.
The Viking ship will be moored at the quay when not in active use (in the spring and autumn too, when there are no rowing or sailing events). Welcome aboard!
