Lofotr Viking Festival 2020 - cancelled due to Covid-19
The festival is an annual 5-day event involving vibrant presentations of Viking Age history. 100-150 Vikings from home and abroad, markets, live performances, concerts, mock combat, games, and competitions – something for everyone, young and old.
The festival takes place by the Viking Ship Harbour where you will find contemporary buildings like the boathouse and smithy, lots of Viking tents, and beautiful natural surroundings. The first festival was organised in 2004. We aim to ensure high quality, authenticity, and enthralling content – for the audience as well as for the Vikings taking part. Thousands of guests arrive every year to join in the games, the fun, and the workshops; to see the fights; to sail the Viking ship; and to enjoy the atmosphere.
