Try being a Viking
In the summer there is a lot going on at the museum and you can try being a Viking yourself (groups can book various activities all year round).
Small children can ride Nordland horses (in a ring) in July, we sail and row Viking ships and you can try your hand at axe-throwing and archery. There is a blacksmith in the smithy several days a week, craftsmen in the Chieftain’s House and Viking fare is served both during the day and evening. There are no outdoor activities in the spring, autumn or winter, but large parts of the grounds are accessible (not in winter), so you can go down to the Viking ship moorings and stroll along pleasant gravelled pathways. We invite guests to a Viking feast in the evening all year round. “Our calendar is being developed and will soon be published.”
